Photo Friday XIX: Matt Hendricks.

Photo Friday is proving harder and harder with no new pictures. I've gots to get me to some GAMES. Sheesh. I'm almost forgetting what it's like to see hockey, live and in person. Internets, meet Providence's Matt Hendricks, a 26-year-old forward from Blaine, Minnesota: It took an informative, "let's learn about the new guys" Google session for me to realize that hi, he looks familiar to me because of the lock-out. I loved the lockout. I would like THAT back for Christmas. That whole season. I miss so many things about it. Providence beat Lowell Wednesday night, and are now...

Photo Friday XVIII: Meet Tuukka Rask.

Oh, did I say you would have details from last week's game and the accompanying pictures this past Tuesday? I meant Friday. Friday night. After I get home from work. Or possibly Saturday morning, after I've slept a thousand sleeps. At any rate, meet Tuukka. This is from warm-ups last Saturday in Manchester....

Photo Friday XVII: Excuses.

Photo Friday VII: Excuses. So, I have been absent lately. I know this. I am tired, internets. I wish it was because I was rocking all night and partying all day, just like KISS, but I am not. The truth, she is banal and no fun, we will skip over her and I will just hand in my excuse notes and we'll all call it good, mmmkay? RE: Absence From: Heather Creegan Date: Thursday, October 4, 2007 To Whom It May Concern: Please accept this note as proof of a valid reason for Heather's absence from the preseason games last...

Photo Friday XVI: Oh, like you didn't see this one coming from a mile away.

First things first: Rask and Lashoff have been sent to Providence. Mike Brown earned the win (4-3) against Springfield in Providence's pre-season opener. Nothing against Mike, but I was shocked to learn that it wasn't Tuukka in net. I've been steeling myself all summer for the inevitable 95/5 split for the goalie tandem in Providence, and this threw me for a loop. Messing with my head already, Gordon? Isn't the season kind of too young for that? Moving on: This week's Photo Friday is the first-ever repeat of a player, and it is where you learn that sometimes, I am...

Returned from a brief hiatus: Photo Friday XV: Peter. Schaefer.

I apologize for that brief hiatus- it was unintentional and unplanned. However, for me, this week's PF totally and completely makes up for it. I do not know if you share in my joy and enthusiasm for Peter Schaefer, but since this here is my website, it's subject to my whims and fancies. Internets, I really, really, really, REALLY like that Peter's on our team. It's indicative of how wishes, they do come true. More information about him after the picture. Boston obtained Peter this summer in a trade that send Shean Donovan to the Senators. Saskatchewan-born Peter, who just...

Photo Friday XIV: Marc Savard.

Welcome to the last planned Photo Friday of the summer. Because I am heading out on a much-needed mini-vacation, I left Jess in charge of this week's subject. She picked Marc. Enjoy: The verdict for Photo Friday was to keep 'er going until at least the start of the pB's home season (Nov. 14th for those of you playing along at home). I am looking forward to camp starting so I can get some new pictures of other boys so I have more subjects from which to choose pictures to post. In linky goodness, I show you an NHL.com article...

Photo Friday XIII: You knew it was a matter of time.

...because I can't post one Sigalet without posting the other, eventually. Internets, meet Jonathan Sigalet. Without further ado: So internets, here's the thing: Photo Friday is scheduled to end next week. But here's the other thing: I've kind of enjoyed doing them, but I can go either way on whether it stays or goes. So, I leave this up to you: should Photo Friday remain an all-year-round thing, or should Photo Friday be an offseason, stave-off-the-hockey-withdrawal kind of thing? You tell me....

Photo Friday XII: Mark Stuart, Defenseman

This week's Photo Friday is Mark Stuart. He is easily one of my top five favorite defensemen. If you know me, you know that defense is probably the position on the ice that I like the most. A lot of that has to do with the fact that defensemen need to have amazing coordination to skate backwards all the time, and as one of the most uncoordinated people on the planet, I covet that skill so very much. It's sad to know that I could never be a defense(wo)man not because I am a terrible skater, but because I lack...

Photo Friday X: Diiiiiiiiiiiiiii-Caaaaaaz!

Nate DiCasmirro is the choice for the tenth edition of Photo Friday. He was chosen in part because I'm so excited he'll be back this coming season (hurrah for the foresight to sign him for two years, Boston), and in part because my roommate, she loves her some Nate in all its hockeyed forms (Thompson, DiCasmirro), and it was her birthday this week. Without further ado: ... and yes, I've noticed that the PF pictures have gotten extensively more numerous as the Fridays have progressed. When I'm perusing many many directories of the zillion and five-eighths images that I have...

Photo Friday VII: Two Jesses were born this week. This goes out to them.

Happy Photo Friday, internets. It's my friend Jess's birthday today, and in honor of that, today's Photo Friday is just a mishmash of hockey players she enjoys that have not yet been featured in this space. This includes players that are NOT Bruins, but dang, I wish they were. Without further ado: ANTOINE VERMETTE, Ottawa Senators, as partially obstructed by Marco Sturm. ANTOINE VERMETTE, Ottawa Senators. ANTOINE VERMETTE, Ottawa Senators. PATRICK EAVES, Ottawa Senators. Double the Pascalish fun. PASCAL PELLETIER. Aww, Teeej! (TJ TREVELYAN) PASCAL PELLETIER. Stay out of trouble this weekend internets. After all, someone's got to be home...

Photo Friday VI: Who won the pool?

... because I totally want in on the cash. And also, why didn't you tell me about the pool? I would have totally thrown Photo Friday's schedule (oh yes, pictures are picked now through the end of August already. Someone needs to get out of the house more!) for whomever would have given me the biggest percentage of their winnings. And lest you think I'm that kind of girl, I totally would have thrown it for coffee or a stable for my pony, too. We could have worked something out if you didn't want to share the dollars. I am...

Photo Friday V: Flexible Finnish Fun.

This week's alliterative Photo Friday (oh, how I love alliteration. It's so sexy!) comes at the request of Caitie. Caitie is a fan of goalies, loves long walks on the beach, would let you buy her a caramel frappaccino, and counts me as her favorite enabler, because I successfully influenced her into roadtripping to Providence and Hartford last season. (You're welcome!) She fulfilled a life-long dream of Hannu's last season when she accidently ran into him outside the Chelmsford Forum in Billerica, MA. He was so excited to meet her that she bequeathed him the honor of having his photograph...

Photo Friday IV: Triple the Petr goodness

So, here's the thing. Petr Kalus, he is the fourth Photo Friday. As I was breaking up my albums from the playoffs (which I never posted), I found two pictures I really really liked, despite their technical flaws and my picky perfectionism. But they are of Petr fighting. Originally, I almost didn't post them, because fighting in hockey is such a guilty pleasure for me (that's another dissection for another time), and because it's such a contested subject, but then I realized, I totally love debating and I have no reason to deny myself pictures of things I love. So...

Photo Friday II: Dennis Packard is smarter then you.

Meet Dennis Packard, internets. He is the star of my second-most-favorite picture from the entire season. I was going to post pictures of those Damn Sigalets for week two, but it would have just been a photographic retread of this entry. And really, how often can I allude to the fact that they're just All That-- And More whilst pretending that I don't really like them more than I like just about anyone else on the Providence roster? I mean, I'll be really frank here: y'all saw through my smoke-and-mirrors of pretending not to be Sigaletly-biased last season. No reason...

Photo Friday I: It's a Nateful!

Internets, I am not adjusting so well to this "off season" thing. I never realized how many of my hours and how much of my energy was focused on hockey. Because of this, I present thee with SVO's first off season Photo Friday, which is nothing more then a blatant excuse for me to delve into my photo archives and love up all my memories of the season past. Internets, meet Nate Thompson. He is our inaugural Photo Friday because my crazy roommate has been waging one heck of a campaign to get me to like him and to looooooooove...
