For Pascal Pelletier today may prove to be the day he has been working towards his entire hockey career. The 24 year old native of Quebec City was recalled by the Boston Bruins on January 16, 2008. According to General Manager Peter Chiarelli, Pelletier will be available to play tonight against the Toronto Maple Leafs. Should he play, this will be Pelletier's NHL debut.
Pelletier, who plays left wing for the Providence Bruins, has tallied 48 points in 40 games thanks to his league leading 24 goals and his 24 assists. Two weeks ago he was named the AHL Player of the Month for the month of December and just one week ago was named as a starter for the Canadian Team in the AHL All Star Game taking place at the end of January.
After spending the past three seasons in Providence, Pascal has certainly earned a start in Boston. In fact, most fans in Providence would say he has earned many starts with the big club. Since last night I have been getting phone calls, text messages and emails from the crazy Providence fans. Rest assured that yes, I am working the game tonight, yes I will take a few moments to run down during warm-ups and yes, I will have a sign for Pascal. Speaking of which, it is time to scour the office for sign making materials! Certainly will not be a pretty sign by any means, (I don't have glitter, pretty markers, etc and have to go right to the Garden from work!) but I will be darned if there is not SOMETHING put together for Pascal's big night! So fingers crossed he gets the nod. Congratulations Pascal and good luck out there! I am sure you will make all of your Providence fans proud and turn the heads of the fans in Boston (who are by the way all buzzing about you already) in the process!!!

March said: This is very cool news. My 8.5 year old met him the other night at the skate party and got a picture etc..I hope he gets some ice/screen time so she puts 2 and 2 together. I hope he gets on the score sheet. I like the bond the PBs fans have to the guys when they move up..i've only been doing it for a season and a half but it is fun to see them get the shot. I said to a buddy today that if it was the forwards battered up in boston and not the D he would have gone up ages ago.
