I am cranky cranky crrrranky today.

Today Patrice gave a bilingual press conference on his injury. I didn't say much about it, because, well, I wasn't there. I was taking my nieces back home after the pBruins game in Lowell that Saturday. We got a real-time narration of the events when Jess's mom called her for the FYI. I caught a replay of the hit that night. I read the news, and I was happy that the extent of his injuries was light, all things considered. But I didn't feel it was my place to comment on anything about it, partially because I missed it in real-time (my opinion was already formed by the time I saw the hit), and partially because Boston and I had been estranged in seasons of late (though, I'd like to pretend that ice is thawing).

I am, in fact, only mentioning the hit because I have the Montreal-at-Boston game on, and every time I look up, all I hear about is Patrice Bergeron. And this is going to sound callous and uncaring, but if you're not reporting new news, please stop. I hate repetition maybe more than anything on the planet, outside of those who park in the fire lane or drive in the breakdown lane, and hearing the same news over and over annoys me. I want Patrice to get well; I miss seeing him on the ice, my thoughts are with him, and the red-hot desire of revenge in me wants someone to take Philly's MVPs out in similar scary cirumstances, just so they know how it feels (but the pacifist in me doesn't want that to happen), but good god, I'm tired of hearing about this already. But my point of view can't be trusted, because I also want the dang Christmas commercials and Christmas tunes to stop, too. See? Cranky=me. Bah humbug!
