Quick notes; details later: Manchester's giveaway tonight was a tiny replica of their Atlantic Conference banner. There was huge fanfare about unveiling it. Sad that it will hang lonely in the rafters for many years to come.
I just want to go on record RIGHT NOW and state that those new jerseys? They are some of the ugliest that I have ever seen. Thumbs down for the new jersey design. Blech.
Providence scored first, Manchester tied it up. Rask looked pretty solid in net, and if he's going to continue to play this well for the rest of the season, I will be moderately satisfied (never completely because you can only have one goalie in net at a time, and it's never who I want). Nateful got ejected from the game for fighting Petr Kanko. Providence took the lead, and defended that lead through several penalty kills (there were a lot of fights).
I was shut down for using my camera, after the man at the door assured me that it was ok. Suggestion has it that fancy dSLR cameras will be shut down at the Dunk this year, too. People, this isn't even RIGHT. Oh, I smell a personal crusade coming on! Heather vs the AHL. Ought to be good times. Get your tickets now!
Pictures will be up Tuesday or thereabouts; details on the game (oh, I took notes when I couldn't take pictures. Three or four pages' worth.) Tuesday as well.
Reflection on Boston's stinker of an opener: I watched the Red Sox game instead. Y'all, that is just sad news on the state of hockey, right there, because I? Hate the Red Sox. Granted, I didn't have any say in what I watched last night, but suffice to say: I watched the Red Sox over the Bruins. Armageddon is on her way. Watch out.

Heather said: Yeah, but what kind of camera do you use? Because they don't kvetch about point-and-shoots, but anything more fancy than that and they gets a'scared.
Melissa said: Come on, Heather. Even I watched the Bruins that night. And I'm a dier hard (a die harder?) of the Sox than the Bruins! But it was the SEASON OPENER.
Heather said: I didn't have any say in what was on the tv. Trust me, I would have preferred to watch hockey.
