The NHL released the schedule; I suppressed a yawn.

So, we signed Dennis Widemaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan.
He might want to forget this happened, but I love this video. (Thanks, M!) It just makes me wish he wasn't ours.

Dear Dennis:
We are terrible enough at shootouts. Please don't fudge it up for us any further.
XOXO,
Heather

There's an article on NHL.com about some boys I know here.

I disagree with a lot of Fluto's article here. Well, ok, mostly just the part about Manny being an upgrade in goal. I know I was excited about Chiarelli's moves to get Kobasew here, but I actually am not all that impressed with many of his other moves. Namely, the ones that jettisoned Kalus and Versteeg. Redenbach for Sauve didn't tickle my fancies, either, but it was decent enough, and I eventually warmed up to Phil. Come to think of it, the Braddy Boyes trade wasn't among my favorites, either. I really need to be put in charge, like four weeks ago.

The NHL also released the schedule, and this is my reaction: eh. I don't like it. We play all the teams I was hoping to see in their home arenas - like, for instance, the Devils - on a weekday. This doesn't work for me, NHL. I demand a re-do. Other teams, we hardly see because the NHL is all about conference segregation. I admit, I liked the unbalanced schedule at first, but now, I'm over it. Let's get back to where I can see a little bit of every team without needing to invest in Center Ice, Gary. I hate hockey on tv, Gary. It's not as fun as hockey in person. I mean, I mightn't be as over the moon about Boston as I was a few years ago, but regardless of who I show up to the TDBNGarden to cheer for, Gary, you're still getting gate receipts. If you keep this craptastical schedule up, Gary, you'll see less of my dollars. Though, I'm not wholly sure that you want to prevent that outcome, Gary.

I need for the AHL to release their schedule so I can plan those roadtrips. I really want to go to Chicago, but I can't if it interferes with the plans for Ottawa. I need to see what I can plan to do, because right now, there's talk of flying to Nashville and Amtraking to New York and there's already research being conducted on how much bookending the season with two trips to Ottawa is going to cost, and I have a sickness, because I am not even near loving Boston as much as I love Providence, and I'm still thinking of going on all these excursions. But planning roadtrips - regardless of what ends up happening - is my favorite part of the summer, and I want more, more, more. C'mon, AHL! Make a girl happy.
