So, Kevin Dallman was sent to Manchester on a conditioning assignment. For those of you playing along at home, Kevin used to be a defenseman in Providence. He was picked up off waivers by St Louis last season when he was dropped down to Providence after starting the season with Boston. I enjoyed him when he was with the Bruins, and I was sad when St Louis picked him up. Over the summer, he signed with LA, and I'd been hoping that he'd make a brief appearance with Manchester, because, let's face it, I have better odds of seeing them then I do seeing LA any time soon, but turns out that HA HA HA NO, because the AHL thought that Providence should focus on playing just Portland for this two-month stretch. Providence and Manchester don't meet up again until the 23rd, when Manchester comes to town. ARGH. This is SO FRUSTRATING. So close, yet, so far.
Dear Kevin: Recondition real slow-like, mmmkay? Thanks! XOXO, Heather.

EDIT, 11:37pm:
The Boston Bruins have acquired defenseman Andrew Ference and forward Chuck Kobasew from the Calgary Flames in exchange for Brad Stuart and Wayne Primeau.

Y'all, I almost feel like Chiarelli is reading my diary. I say "almost" because while I'm super-excited about Kobasew, I'm a little pissed about Brad Stuart. If Chiarelli was retaining ALL that he was reading in my diary, he'd know that keeping Brad Stuart would have been wise, because that will come back to haunt us, big time.
In other news, how much longer 'til we get Spezza?
(P.S. Bish: Chuck played for the Lowell Lock Monsters. The River Hawks are UMass Lowell's hockey team. Ben Walter played for the Hawks. Chuck played for the 'Monsters.)
