Confession.

I did not like the movie Slap Shot. I watched it three times. Does this mean I lose my hockey fanatic papers?

If you say anything bad about "Miracle" we are going to have a problem.

Somedays, I am not sure why Slapshot is such a classic, but then I watch the intro, and it reminds me why.

Sigh. Then where do I send 'em, Brushback? Gary Bettman?

And I love me some 'Miracle,' Tapeleg. 'Slap Shot' was the only hockey movie I've ever seen that didn't "take" with me. And I don't know why. I blame Disney and their Mighty Ducks Trilogy.

Mystery, Alaska is a good one too. Probably the only time I've ever liked Russell Crowe.

Don't tell anyone, but I'm not into it either.

I also think "Bull Durham" sucked, but that is a problem I have with Kevin Costner.

Well, that's to be expected. Kevin Costner is not all that appealing as an actor. Mostly because his acting range doesn't go beyond "wet blanket" or "angry wet blanket."

The commentary track on the Slapshot DVD is pretty funny. But that probably won't take either. Still...

I have a copy of "The Boys" sitting around here somewhere, waiting for some attention.

A few years back, while in Boston, I did a Hockey Night in Boston party (this was during the lockout, mind you), where a bunch of non hockey fans came over for drinks, rod hockey, and a Miracle screening. I laid out most of the jersey collection for everyone to pick one and wear, and gave out hockey cards as a door prize. Great night. But defidently a Miracle crowd, not a Slapshot crowd.
