Boston has a matinee game in about an hour.

Boston plays Carolina at noon, today, internets. Hurrah for a new way for me to kill some time before the pB game against Hartford tonight.

Last year, I went to both games in one day. (Boston played the Flyers and my Mike Knuble for this game last year.) I'd thought about doing it this year, too, but ultimately chose sleep over the game, and I have every intention of enjoying the game from the couch, wrapped up in my comforter.

I missed the Boston/Penguins game on Wednesday, but my uncle filled me in on the highlights yesterday as he carved the turkey: Boston won in the shootout, and Sidney Crosby was out with a groin injury. I really like that Boston is winning in the shoot-out this year. I still hate the shoot-out with an intense rage, but it's nice to see Boston winning them.

As far as transactions go, I was 1-for-2 in my post from Wednesday morning: Boston recalled Yan Stastny in case PJ Axelsson couldn't play (Yan was told at 9am that he was on an 11am flight to PA, and also, my FireFox spellchecker thinks I should spell "Stastny" as "Tastily" and that's making me giggle because I'm immature like that), and then returned him yesterday. There were no goaltender moves, because Brian Finley injured his groin in the first period of his first start in Boston. Philippe Sauve is going to dress today and serve as Tim Thomas's back-up.

Hannu is all better, and is supposed to start all three games for Providence this weekend (home tonight against Hartford, away Saturday and Sunday against Portland and Lowell, respectively). This means that Jordan Sigalet will be dressed as Hannu's back-up this weekend. I never cheer injuries to players (I fear the bad karma that would rain upon me in buckets), but I'm torn between feeling relief that Brian's hurt and therefore keeping our overflow of goalies in check, and feeling dread that this is just a delay of an inevitable move that will leave me miserable in some way.

There's a rumor swirling around the Providence stands and the internet that Jordan hasn't been seeing much playing time because of his battle with MS. And that rumor is very wrong, internets. So very, very, very wrong. Jordan's lack of playing time in Providence this season has had NOTHING AT ALL to do with his MS. And now I'm going to repeat it for good measure, because personal slights make me feel provoked and therefore infantile:

Jordan is not having any problems with his MS. He is perfectly healthy. Jordan is not having any problems with his MS. He is perfectly healthy. Jordan is not having any problems with his MS. He is perfectly healthy. Jordan is not having any problems with his MS. He is perfectly healthy. Jordan is not having any problems with his MS. He is perfectly healthy. Jordan is not having any problems with his MS. He is perfectly healthy. Jordan is not having any problems with his MS. He is perfectly healthy.

I hate rumors as much as I hate the shootout and possibly more then I hate mushrooms and orange-flavored candies.
