According to the internets, today Boston announced that they signed Braddy Boyes. Tsn.ca reports the deal is a two-year one, valued at $3mil ($1.4m the first year, $1.6m the second).
And I'm excited about Braddy being back, because he's fun, talented, and most importantly, because no one else's name would fit NEARLY as well into the theme song from "Cops," but I'm still kind of waiting for official word on Jordan and I'm definitely waiting on some kind of something to happen with Patrice. Sunday's papers (or whatever day. I read the articles last night. Dates blur together for me, lately) stated that there's still nothing going between the Bruins and his agent. Like, hi, people? If you're going to market Patrice as your next franchise player, you've like, got to sign him and stuff. I'm not all smooth with the legal sides of contracts or the complexities of running a team, but even I know you've got to sign him first!
And speaking of the papers, one of them had a line about how maybe Patrice should be the next captain. This is where, if life was a movie with a well-scripted soundtrack, the needle would have scratched off the record and everything would have ground to a silence. Patrice is an excellent player. Patrice will get more incredible as he matures, but I do not think that we should give him the C. I think that maybe this year, he should have an A. The article also said that if it wasn't Patrice who got the C, maybe it should be Zdeno Chara. And y'all, I know that man can be intimidating because he's so tall, but... no. I admit, I didn't follow his particular role within the Sens last season (or... ever, really) very closely, but, when it comes to candidates for captain with what we have currently, I would have to say the first choice should be PJ Axelsson. And then the second choice (assuming we sign him; the NYRangers and Detroit are also interested in him) should be Brian Leetch. Either one would be an excellent choice, but I have no say in the matter and my name is not Dave Lewis.
The Bruins reached an agreement, sans arbitration hearing, with David Tanabe. It's not a guaranteed contract, because the Bruins retained their right to change their mind within the next 48 hours. If the Bruins decide that all systems are a go, re: David, he'll recieve a one-year contract valued at $1.275mil.
Milan Jurcina has resigned with Boston on a one-year contract. The biggest thing to note about this is that it's a one-way deal: no AHL for him. Should something happen where he's not needed in Boston and he's uninjured (barring a trade), he will need to sign a separate contract to play in the AHL.

David Crowe said: Hi Heather,
I think you've done a very nice job with your blog. I have had a chance to browse your site and I think many people would enjoy reading it. I would like to link to your site from my site.
For the past few months I have been working on my site www.writeonsports.com. It is still in the process of being developed and will be finalized in the next month (or so). The premise of the site is to provide a centralized area where independent people, who like to write on sports or read about sports, are able to find articles/authors they enjoy. As part of my website, I am going to provide a "sportsblog library". This will provide readers a searchable data base to find the sports teams that they enjoy reading about. I would like your site to be part of the sportsblog library. If someone searches for the Bruins they would be able to find a link to your blog.
I am not looking for a straight listing of all the blogs that relate to each team; I am looking for a place where someone can go and find a well written blog that offers information to the knowledgeable reader. I think your site provides such a quality. As such, I would like to invite you to be listed in the sportsblog library.
Anyway, I look forward to your response and I hope you will accept my invitation.
Thanks,
David Crowe
