Providence 8, Wilkes-Barre 3

We're a little late for warm-ups, but we do find out that a) Jordan is starting, and b) Alexa brought some birthday love for him:

alexa & jordan's sign

And THEN we're treated to a Providence game that is more like the Providence games that I'm used to seeing- not these past couple of bad periods. Scoring summary taken from the boxscore:

1. PRO Leach, (2) (Guite), 5:55
1. PRO Guite, (17) (Robinson, Schutte), 18:27 (PP)
2. WBS Christensen, (17) (Dixon), 2:51
2. PRO Stuart, (3) (Healey), 3:09
2. PRO Lundbohm, (12) (Ford), 14:04 (SH)
2. PRO Pelletier, (11) (Ford), 15:20
3. PRO Thompson, (5) (Reich), 8:21
3. PRO Pelletier, (12) (Robinson), 10:24
3. PRO Pelletier, (13) (Guite), 10:46
3. WBS Dixon, (9) (Talbot, Filewich), 16:32 (PP)
3. WBS Christensen, (18) (Nasreddine), 18:03 (PP)

Whatever Gordon said to those boys in the meeting they had after yesterday's game... it worked. A hat trick by Pascal Pelletier, a shorthanded goal by black-eyed David Lundbohm (sustained Friday against Portland), Mark Stuart's third goal of his career (also on my wish list: getting to see a Jonathan Sigalet goal and a Mike Schutte goal.), Jay Leach's second goal of the season... It was a delightful game. I wish this one had been aired on television; not the debacle against Hartford. Favorite goal: W-B's goalie Chiodo was behind the net in the second, waiting to clear the puck as it came down around the glass, but the puck bounced off one of the steel bars that support the panes of glass, bounced out in front of the empty net, and right to the stick of Pascal Pelletier. Awww yeah; pBruins score goal number four. I did feel bad for Chiodo; it was a legitimately bad bounce.

Jon Sigalet was out Saturday and Sunday with a concussion; he's a probable return for Wednesday (we've missed him). I still haven't found out what's wrong with Ben Walter, but Milan Gajic was recalled from Gwinnet of the ECHL, so Ben will possibly be out indefinitely. Milan's been kicking some tail in Gwinnet. I heard a rumor he'll be very missed while he's on recall. (I promise we'll take good care of him.)

I'm glad I took in a Sunday game (not usually how I roll), even though there were more little kids there then I could possibly handle (how do I always end up next to the kids whose parents let them run wild and free?) - including the kids that BROKE THE DUNK'S SCAFFOLDING. I don't want to sound old and crotchety, and I know that there's only so much control a parent has over a child, but DANG. I'll start charging y'all for the babysitting I have to do just so I can see the game that's in progress if something doesn't quit. I'd be a millionaire in a week.

Pictures from Friday here, and from tonight here.

I'm not because I would have had to leave Manchester about two hours ago to avoid the rush hour, and the thought of driving to Providence for the third time in 4 days makes me want to cry. I need to move to RI, man.

I hope Jordan and Ben don't think less of me for it.

Were you there last night?

Might I suggest wearing a sign similar to the one I saw in a store the other day. "Children found running wild will be given an expresso coffee and a free puppy."

Sallaurie, I love how you think. Wonder how many puppies I can smuggle into the 'Dunk...

Somehow I don't think the Dunk would care. They let me in with a suitcase haha. And I absolutely LOVE that sign!
